New York City looks different from the water — and once you’ve seen it this way, you’ll understand why guests from 23 countries call it the highlight of their trip. Dream Boat NY offers a curated collection of private yacht experiences in NYC departing from Chelsea Piers on the Hudson River, designed for intimate groups of 2 to 6 guests. No crowds, no strangers, no tin-can tour boats — just your private boat, your people, and Manhattan’s legendary skyline.
Whether you’re planning a sunset cruise, a champagne brunch on the water, or an exclusive charter for a major NYC event, every experience is fully private and fully crewed. Captain Martin’s 30 years of NYC water expertise comes standard.
Private Experiences on the Water
These are our most popular private yacht experiences, available throughout our April–November season. Each can be customized with catering, champagne service, or special touches to suit your celebration.
Sunset Cruise NYC
The most requested private experience on the water. Depart Chelsea Piers as the city turns golden, glide past the Statue of Liberty, and watch the Manhattan skyline ignite at dusk. Our booking calendar marks the exact departure times for each date to ensure you catch the sunset over the water. Intimate, romantic, and genuinely unforgettable.
Night Cruise NYC
After dark, the city puts on its finest. The illuminated skyline, the glittering bridges, the reflections on the Hudson — the night cruise delivers a private boat experience that daytime simply can’t match. Perfect for celebrations or for anyone who wants to see New York City in a whole new light.
Brunch Cruise NYC
A private brunch on the water is one of New York’s most distinctive experiences. Settle into the wood-paneled cabin lounge as your crew serves our all-inclusive champagne brunch — NY bagels, smoked salmon, artisanal pastries, mimosas, Whispering Angel Rosé, and more — while Manhattan drifts past. Available seasonally; pairs beautifully with morning match days and special occasions.
Lunch Cruise NYC
A private afternoon on the Hudson with a Mediterranean lunch board and open bar. A natural fit for milestone celebrations, client entertaining, or simply a memorable afternoon in the city without the crowds or the wait for a table.
Champagne Cruise NYC
The classic private NYC yacht experience: an artisanal charcuterie board, Chandon Brut Cuvée Champagne, Whispering Angel Rosé, and the Manhattan skyline. Simple, elegant, and endlessly impressive. Available at any time of day, any duration.
Seasonal Private Experiences
New York’s waterways shift with the seasons — and so does the private boat experience. These seasonal cruises capture what makes each time of year on the Hudson genuinely special.
Spring Cruise
Spring brings warmer light, blooming riverbanks, and the return of outdoor deck season. Early-season dates are less crowded and easier to book — ideal for guests who want the private yacht experience NYC delivers at its most relaxed.
Summer Cruise
Peak season on the Hudson. Long evenings, open skies, and the city in full energy. Summer is our busiest season — sunset cruises and Saturday charters book weeks ahead. Book early for the best dates.
Fall Foliage Cruise
One of New York’s best-kept secrets: fall on the water. As the Hudson Valley’s foliage begins to turn and the city air sharpens, the private fall foliage cruise offers a completely different perspective on the season. Available August through October, with peak color typically in mid-to-late October. The combination of autumn foliage, the New York skyline, and a private yacht makes this one of the most photographed experiences we offer.
NYC Event Charters
When the city hosts its biggest moments, a private boat charter becomes the most exclusive way to be part of it. These event charters are designed around major NYC occasions — ideal for hosting international guests, corporate entertainment, or marking the event in a way that no restaurant or bar can replicate.
July 4th Fireworks Charter
The most sought-after date in New York Harbor. On Independence Day, the private July 4th fireworks charter positions your group of 2–6 on the water for a front-row view of Macy’s fireworks over the Hudson — without fighting the crowds on the shore. This date books months in advance. Reserve early.
US Open Charter
During the US Open tennis tournament in late August and early September, a private yacht charter becomes the ideal way to entertain guests or celebrate the tournament in style. The private US Open charter pairs beautifully with match days and client entertainment in the city.
SailGP Charter NYC
When SailGP comes to New York, the private SailGP charter puts your group in the best possible position on the water. Exclusive, intimate, and entirely private — 2 to 6 guests with a professional crew and the full Manhattan backdrop.
World Cup Charter — FIFA 2026
The FIFA World Cup 2026 comes to New York with 8 matches at MetLife Stadium, including the Final on July 19, 2026. While the city fills with over a million international visitors, a private World Cup charter on the Hudson offers the luxury alternative — an exclusive retreat from the crowds, a stunning NYC skyline backdrop, and the ideal setting for hosting international guests, clients, or friends from abroad before or after match days. World Cup charter dates are among the most time-sensitive bookings of the year. Reserve now.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many guests can join a private experience?
Every experience accommodates 2 to 6 guests. As per USCG federal licensing regulations, 6 passengers is the maximum. This isn’t a limitation — it’s by design. The intimacy of a small group is exactly what makes the private boat experience exceptional.
Where do experiences depart from?
All experiences depart from Chelsea Piers Marina on Manhattan’s west side. Paid parking is available on-site at the Chelsea Piers complex. See our location page for full directions, parking details, and public transit options.
What’s the difference between an “experience” and an “event”?
Experiences are on-water journeys — sunset cruises, night cruises, seasonal cruises, and event charters. Events are personal celebrations you host on the water, such as proposals, weddings, birthdays, and corporate gatherings. Many events incorporate an experience (a sunset proposal, for example). Both are fully private.
What if it rains?
We try to avoid rain. If rain can’t be avoided, or if the captain determines that weather conditions require postponing your charter, rescheduling is complimentary. Simply select any available charter of equal or lesser value within the same calendar year.
How far in advance should I book?
Peak season dates (May through September) — especially summer Saturdays, sunset departures, and major NYC events — book quickly. Two to four weeks advance booking is recommended for peak dates. Shoulder season (April, October, November) tends to have more flexibility. For July 4th and SailGP dates, earlier is better.
Can I see pricing for private experiences?
Full transparent pricing is available on our pricing page. Private yacht experiences start at $700 for a 2-hour charter. Gratuity (18–22% is customary) is additional.
